Mountain Festivals

The Banff Centre hosts various programs, festivals and special events, including the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festivals in November and the Banff Summer Arts Festival running from June to early September.

Waterton Wildflower Festival - This 10-day event, held in late June, features educational courses on wildflowers, plants, climate, ecosystems and insects, as well as art exhibits, guided flower walks, hikes and workshops on photography, water colour painting and drawing.

Festival of Eagles - an annual festival held in Canmore in mid-October to celebrate the fall migration of golden eagles and other raptors. Activities, displays, guided hikes, speakers.

Wings Over the Rockies - an annual birding festival held in the Kootenay Park-Radium Hot Springs area in early May. Activities, bird lists, bird descriptions and bird stories.

Golden Wildlife Festival of Birds and Bears - an annual festival celebrating the beginning of spring migration and the end of winter hibernation.
